Appears to me the taxes would be collected in and for the state of origin of purchase, not buyer's state, or both. So New Mexicans would pay taxes as though they were traveling and buying in a store in New Jersey. Anyone really think the purchaser's state would derive the income? So likely we would pay a tax to another state, for a long-distance transaction. Not a good idea to require New Mexicans to subsidize stupidity in government in another state; we have enough problems of our own. Looks like a national value-added tax would be a great idea, so we could fund progressive (by definition, collectivist) knuckleheads, nationally!
